ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE IN GLASTONBURY
With Ailsa Masterton MSTAT
Why people come
As young children we move freely with very little effort, reaching, squatting, and sitting with ease. As we develop through education and into work our life styles are largely sedentary and this takes its toll on our mental, physical and emotional health. For some this results in developing undesirable habits which limit our potential.
Why our bodies change
-
We sit at tables at school and in further education for many hours each day
-
At work we spend a large proportion of our time sitting at computers, driving cars or sitting on trains and buses
-
We are often in a constant state of stress and we lose the ability to let go of mental, emotional and physical tensions.
-
Our relaxation time involves little or no physical activity
Common Problems

These problems generally develop as a result of our lifestyles, the work we do or the sports we play.
